Huawei organizes “Future Space Center” and Saudi Space Commission participates in opening to Raise Awareness of Space and Technology Future

Huawei organized the “Future Space Center” at Riyadh front on Wednesday, June 23, and was inaugurated by the Acting CEO, Dr. Muhammad bin Saud Al-Tamimi, , in the presence of the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom, Mr. Weiking Chen, along with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the leader of the Capacity Building Track in the Saudi Space Commission, Eng. Faris Al-Saqabi, and Deputy Minister of Investment, Mr. Adnan Al-Sharqi, and the CEO of Huawei, Mr. Eric Yang, in order to enhance awareness of the space sector future in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In addition to supporting the private sector and international companies, thus consolidating the Kingdom’s position in the region as a pivotal center for technology, as well as strengthening cooperation and participation with the private sector. It contributes to enabling knowledge transfer and sector development, in addition to continuing efforts to support the transformation of the digital economy and raising awareness in this regard.
The Future Space Center provides a unique experience of simulating spacecraft and the way they operate. The center has a number of other facilities that enrich the experience of space and technology, and the “Future Space” center is the largest exhibition center outside China, as it includes many modern technologies, including autonomous driving, 3D printing, robotics and other innovative technologies. The “Future Space center” covers an area of 1,500 square meters, which is considered the first exhibition in the Kingdom in this regard. It will provide an opportunity for young innovators to introduce themselves and display their innovations. The center is expected to receive about 200,000 visitors over the next five years after its opening.
The CEO of Huawei Tech. Investment Saudi Arabia Co. While His Excellency Mr. Weiqing Chen, Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, said: “The close relations between China and the Kingdom contribute significantly to the development of the two countries. The Cooperation between technology companies in the public and private sectors such as Huawei and public institutions will contribute to achieve new value for the local technology ecosystem, in light of the Kingdom’s efforts to achieve digital transformation in line with its national strategy. We congratulate the Saudi Space Commission on the launch of the “Future Space Center”, and we look forward to achieving more achievements.
Deputy Minister of Investment, Mr. Adnan Al Sharqi, said: “The knowledge-based economy is one of the basic elements to achieve Vision 2030. Initiatives such as the “Future Space Center” will contribute to strengthening the digital ecosystem and attracting investments from digital companies. We look forward to strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors, which has proven successful in advancing innovation and developing local talent”.
