Saudi Space Commission Launches ‘The Saudi Space Accelerator Program’

The Saudi Space Commission launches the ‘The Saudi Space Accelerator Program’ in 2023. This program aims to empower local entrepreneurs in the space sector by boosting their involvement in achieving the Kingdom’s 2030 goals, supporting their experiences in space technologies, and preparing a supportive environment for startups according to the best international practices.

Through the program, the Commission seeks to provide next-level training for startups and innovative idea-stage founders in the space and aerospace fields through enhanced training, tools, mentorship, and extended networks. Registration starts from 24 October to 28 November, the training starts from 15 January till 23 March, and it concludes in the period from 2 to 13 April. The program includes in-person and virtual sessions, advanced material, and the support from SSC expertise.

The Commission aims to attract 20 startups in the fields of space tourism, exploration, satellite communication, and space photography, to polish their skills in project management, and understanding their clients. The program will allow them to be connected with world-class resources that boost their chances of success. As this program is run in partnership with “Techstars” which is a global investment business that provides access to capital, one-on-one mentorship, worldwide network, and customized programming for early-stage entrepreneurs.

The Commission encourages startup founders to apply for the program via the link before 28 November 2022, while the program is part of the
Commission’s plans to empower local startups in the Kingdom’s space sector, promote innovation culture, and develop the national space infrastructure.
